Spiritual Coaching | Mindfulness and Slow Living

Hello, and welcome to Rocky Trails and Rainbows! My name is Sarah. I’m a certified life coach, certified spiritual director, 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher, and holistic wellness blogger. I’m an advocate for self-love and self-care. I’m passionate about holistic wellness and nurturing the mind, body, and soul.

Let me tell you a bit about my background and qualifications.

Iliff School of Theology, M.Div.

I have a Master of Divinity from Iliff School of Theology, a United Methodist seminary school that welcomes many faith traditions. It’s recognized globally for its focus on peace, justice, and ethics.

In addition to academic training, I learned self-care and self-awareness through my spiritual care courses. Spiritual care looks a lot like spiritual direction and coaching, where the emphasis is on listening deeply and being fully present with others.

Benet Hill Monastery, Certified Spiritual Director

After Iliff, I earned my spiritual direction certification through Benet Hill Monastery. This was a time of transformation for me, as I grew spiritually in a way that I had not before. I was introduced to different kinds of spiritual practices and tools for developing my relationship with the divine.

While I was finishing my studies at Benet Hill, I chose to become a certified life coach. Coaching, in particular, gave me the skills to help people move forward and reach their goals. It taught me how to ask thoughtful questions to help others reflect and work through their circumstances in a constructive way.

I’ve always felt connected to the divine in a significant way, and I continue to nurture that connection through spiritual practices. I’m a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher, and I’m working on my 300-hour certification. I’m a dedicated lifelong learner and enjoy having something to work on and think about.

I’m very interested in mindful and slow living. The slow living movement emphasizes the need to simplify our lives and slow down to reduce stress and improve our well-being. It encourages us to focus on the present moment and the simple pleasures of life. In this fast-paced and often overwhelming world, I crave peace, and I intentionally cultivate it through mindful living practices. These practices include decluttering, organizing, simplifying my life, and self-care. I also focus on creating aesthetically-pleasing spaces that are cozy, comfortable, and functional. You can read more about my mindful living coaching package here. This program will give you an introduction to these ideas and the tools to practice mindful living for years to come. It helps so much to have the space to process and think about these ideas with a trained professional, and it’s a great form of self-care to take the time for yourself to study with a coach and gain skills that you can use for the future.

Some activities I enjoy include being in nature, hiking, photography, oil painting, and playing the guitar and songwriting. I have a passion for British crime dramas, and I love trying new plant-based recipes in the Instant Pot. I enjoy spending time with my spouse and our two adorable kitties, Mandi and Brinney.

Diversity and inclusion are important to me, and I strive to create a safe and welcoming space for all.

Coaching is transformative, and I'm passionate about what I do. You can discover more about my current offerings here, and contact me if you have any questions.
